5 Things to Do for a Tidy and Organized Home

5 Areas to Keep Tidy and Organized

Do you ever feel overwhelmed with the amount of chores that you have to do to keep your home looking its best? We all want our home to be clean, organized, and feel like we have it all together. Myself included. So what are these top areas?

Laundry

The endless piles of laundry that have to be folded and put away. The washing is the easiest part. I mean, we just have to throw it in the washer and let the washer do the work. That’s not hard. It’s the folding of the laundry and putting it away that’s the most dreaded.

What’s easiest for me is picking a day to do it and just get it done in one day. Then I don’t have to look at it for the rest of the week. Another way to do it if you have a bigger family is picking a day for each person and doing their laundry that day. If your child is old enough, then let them put away their laundry after you have folded it. One less step for you to do.

Dishes

This can be a love/hate relationship for some people. I don’t mind doing the dishes. I actually enjoy it. Probably because I have a dishwasher, which makes doing them quick and efficient.

If you keep up on this chore a few times a day then your home will always feel tidy and put together. What makes doing the dishes more enjoyable for me is using products that I absolutely love. I’m not going to buy just any dish soap, dishwasher liquid, or sponges. I am going to buy what I love and what will get  me excited to do the dishes. This way it never really feels like a chore.

My favorite products are from the brand Method. I use every product.

Garbage

Yes, taking out the garbage is pretty logical on what you need to do but I decided to just add it anyway. When you put a new bag in the trash can there is just this relaxing feeling about taking the nasty garbage out and replacing it with a new fresh bag. It makes my kitchen feel so much fresher.

Here are some tips to keep your trash can smelling fresh until you have to take it out. Try the scented garbage bags, use a dryer sheet, or take 1 or 2 cotton balls and place 2 drops on each cotton ball and place in the trash can. Do these tips before adding the bag of course.

Don’t forget to change the bathroom trash cans too.

Vacuum

This is my favorite of all of these I think. This one definitely makes a difference in how your home feels. Those fresh vacuum lines, tho!

Just by doing this one thing it really makes a room feel clean even if you have not dusted or cleaned the windows yet.

Invest in a quality vacuum and one you will absolutely love. I am a firm believer in using products you love using because it will never feel like a chore then.

Mop

This can go along with vacuuming. There is just something about having floors that are vacuumed and mopped that make a room feel refreshed.

What kind of flooring do you have? Then you can decide the best way to keep them clean. Warm soapy water and a bucket, microfiber mop and a spray, or steam mop. Always use what is best for the kind of flooring you have.

If you have linoleum you could use a mop and bucket. If you have laminate or real hardwood floors you could use Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner and a microfiber mop.
