5 Simple Tips to Keep a Clean Home
If you know me, then you would know that I am a freak about keeping my home clean. I’m a little OCD when it comes to cleaning.
But what if you get a call that you will have company coming over in like 20 minutes. Or even worse, the unexpected, no-notice guests. Panic mode for sure!
Well, I came up with 5 areas in the home to keep clean on a daily basis that make such a difference in whether your home feels clean and put together, or not.
Make Your Bed
I know, I know. You probably hear this one all the time. And I know your company more than likely will not be going in your bedroom. But honestly, it really does make a difference. Every time I walk into my bedroom or my son’s bedroom and the beds are not made, I always feel like the room is messy. Once I make the beds and look at the room, I just can’t believe what a difference it truly can make.
Clean Your Kitchen Sink
Make sure the dishes are washed or in the dishwasher and wipe it clean. If your going to do one thing to keep your kitchen looking clean, keeping the dishes and sink clean is the way to go.
This has the same feel as making your bed. I guess you could say the sink is the bed of the kitchen. Is that weird?
Keep Your Toilet Clean
This really doesn’t take that much effort at all. Just a few quick swipes of the bowl and it’s clean. Nobody likes to come to your house and find a dirty toilet when using the bathroom. I mean, would like seeing a dirty toilet at someone else’s house. A very important spot, in my opinion, to keep clean on the daily whether your having company or not.
Get Yourself a Vacuum Robot
It’s always nice having a freshly vacuumed carpet or hard flooring. Who else hates stepping on crumbs day after day?
I love to vacuum. It’s very relaxing for me. But if you don’t have time to do a daily vacuuming of your home, then you could try a vacuum robot. I don’t have one myself, yet, BUT I have heard very great things about the iRobot Roomba.
You could have the Roomba going while your doing the previous mentioned areas. Just get it going in the morning and then proceed with the rest of the chores.
Keep the Air Clean
You can clean the air in one of two ways. A houseplant or air purifier.
If you get a plant, then it can do double duty as an air cleaner and home decor. Here are some options for houseplants that purify the air.
The other good option is an air purifier. Especially if you suffer from allergies. The GermGuardian air purifier has a True HEPA filter that captures 99.97% of dust and allergens such as household dust, pet dander, mold spores, and plant pollen. It also has UV-C light technology that works with Titanium Dioxide to kill airborne bacteria, viruses, germs, and mold spores.
As a mom, having my home’s air purified of all the yucky airborne bacteria, viruses, and germs really helps to put my mind at ease for keeping my family healthy.
One last, very simple way to keep your home clean every day … keep your home clutter free. You will probably hear me say this quite a bit, but it’s so true. A clutter-free home feels so much cleaner. I feel like this one thing can make the biggest impact overall.
